A fresh new image and contents for the Cathedral website

19/05/2004 www.catedralvitoria.com offers a new graphical environment for rapid access to its contents.

19/05/2004 Find out about the restoration project in detail, take a spectacular virtual tour around the niches of the temple, book visits on line, keep up to date with all the widespread cultural activities or purchase merchandising articles. These are some of the possibilities offered by the Santa María Cathedral Foundation website, with its fresh new image and contents as from May 2004.

Inaugurated two years ago, with an annual average of 50,000 visits and 600,000 pages consulted, www.catedralvitoria.com has become an essential link with the public. The changes are a fresh new appearance of the graphical environment, with updated texts and photographs. The different drop-down menus offer much more comprehensive and up-to-date information.

In addition, the web incorporates a news section to keep the users up to date with the latest news, with special attention paid to all the activities the Santa María Cathedral Foundation organizes and how to take part in them.

Five screen backgrounds and a screen saver
A new search engine gives rapid access to the information. Likewise, the communication with users is strengthened with a very modern booking system for visits and the possibility to incorporate links and pages of interest to the Old Cathedral web. In addition, five screen backgrounds and a screen saver with motifs of the Cathedral can be downloaded.

The great virtue of this page resides in the fact that its contents are aimed at professionals and specialists in the areas of Architecture, Archaeology, History or Art as well as the public in general. The web page is divided into three main first-level sections: Cathedral, Restoration and Foundation. In each section, the information is accompanied with a wide selection of photographs of the Cathedral and different aspects of its restoration.
