The poet Jesús Munárriz will feature in a new session of the cycle ‘Encounters with the Cathedral’

2009/12/02 He will be accompanied by rhapsodes Txaro Martínez, Elisa Rueda and José Ruiz de Azua, and by Patxi Lebrancón on the drums. It will take place at 20:00. at the Aula Fundación Caja Vital (Dendaraba Shopping Centre) with unrestricted entrance

              Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2nd December 2009.- Tomorrow the Santa María Cathedral Foundation will offer a new session within the cycle 'Encounters with the Cathedral'. This time we have the opportunity to enjoy a poetry session featuring Jesús Munárriz. It will start at 20:00 at the Aula Fundación Caja Vital (Dendaraba Shopping Centre) at 20:00, with unrestricted entrance.  
              
After the presentation last 20th October of José Ignacio Besga's collection of poems 'Poesía para seducir a la tristeza', tomorrow it will be the turn for Jesús Munárriz. Part of the cycle 'Poetry from the heart of the city', followers of this literary genre can get to know Munárriz's work and find out more about his books.
          Poet, translator and essayist born in San Sebastian in 1940, Munárriz holds a degree in Germanic Philology. He was the co-founder and director of the publisher Ciencia Nueva since its foundation until its administrative closure in 1969, co-director of the poetry collection Saco roto by publisher Helios, publications director for the publisher Siglo XXI de España, and founder and current director of Ediciones Hiperión. Among others, he has translated Hölderlin, Rilke, Celan, Aragón, Wilde, Shakespeare and Pessoa into Spanish, and his poetry includes works such as 'Viajes y estancias', 'Cuarentena', 'Esos tus ojos', 'Otros labios me sueñan', 'Corazón independiente', 'Peaje para el alba', 'Disparatario' and 'Sólo amor'.During tomorrow's recital he will be accompanied by rhapsodes Txaro Martínez, Elisa Rueda and José Ruiz de Azua, and by Patxi Lebrancón on the drums. It will start at 20:00 at the Aula Fundación Caja Vital (Dendaraba Shopping Centre) entrance will be unrestricted until full capacity is reached.
