The Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation organises educational workshops every month to make the children learn and enjoy it

2010/01/26 The first workshop of this year will take place this saturday and it will be dedicated to the medieval city wall. The workshops will be maintained during the Easterm, summer and Christmas holidays.

                 Vitoria- Gasteiz, 26th January 2010.- After the success of every didactic workshop that we organise, the Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation has decided to maintain during the whole year this workshops where the children learn and enjoy it at the same time. The first one in 2010 will take place this saturday, 30th january,  and it will be dedicated to the medieval city wall. We will maintain the workshops during the Eastern, summer and Christmas holidays but the children will also have the opportunity to enjoy this workshops the last saturday every month.

The workshop of january has the titlle ´ The medieval city wall´. They will first visit the scale model´s room to see how was the city wall in an earlier time, it´s history, function and it´s parts and relation with the cathedral. Later, they will visit the central nave and the city wall to go around the restorated flight. Then, in the studio, the group will build a city wall with cardboards, plasticine and several recycled materials. The objective of this workshop is to lmake the children learn not only about the function of the city wall but also the constructive techniques and the importance of recycling materials. The workshop will beginn at 10.30am with a duration of one hour and a half aproximately. They are bilingual as usual, basque and spanish. The groups will be of 20 children, and aimed at children aged 8 to 11. The workshop will cost 3€ and 1€ for the members or children of the members of the Circle of Founders of the Cathedral.
