The italian group Odhecaton will sing on Saturday in the cathedral to celebrate St. James Year

2010/07/14 It is one of the best groups specialised in the Renaissance and Clasicism.

             Vitoria- Gasteiz, 14th July 2010.- The italian group Odhecaton, formed by the best men´s italian voices specialised in the Renaissance and Classicism, will sing in the Santa Maria Cathedral on 17th July. This recital is for celebrate St. James Year and will begin at 8.00pm in the central nave of the cathedral.In collaboration with the State Society for Cultural Commemorations and the Basque Goverment, the Santa Maria Cathedral will offer during this month three concerts of european spiritual music. Last week was the time for the group Speculum and this Saturday Odhecaton is the guest group.Founded in 1998, Odhecaton, the name comes from Harmonice Musices Odhecaton , the first musical edition dedicated only to the music and published in Venice by Ottaviano Petrucci in 1501. Their repertoire includes the musical production of italian and flemish composers who were active in Italy during the Quatrocento and Cinquecento. Directed by Paolo da Col, the group is formed by the best italian men ´s voices specialised in the Renaissance and the time before the Clasicism.  In the last four years the group has received the best reviews in different european countries. During their concert, they will sing without a pause the ´Misa Sancti Jacobi´ and  a program of Guillaume Dufay ( 144-1474) composed by three pieces.The tickets will be available for 3€ at the Cathedral´s Store (Las Escuelas St., 11) from 10.00am till 14.30pm and from 16.30 till 20.00pm. For the members of the Founders Circle the price will be 1€
