Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation organises a workshop about the traditional techniques in heritage restoration

2010/10/26 The theoretical session is opened to the public but with a previous registration, and the practical ones are aimed at professionals.

Vitoria- Gasteiz, 25th October 2010.- For promoting the knowledge about building systems, the Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation has organised a workshop about the traditional techniques in heritage restoration. In collaboration with the Rute High Decoration School ( Cordoba) and Ega Paintings, the working day will be given by Manuel Garcia, the director of Aldecort.

During 5th and 6th November, the workshop will be about the lime, considered one of the most ecological construction elements, and the stucco of plaster, which are fine materials representative of the patrimomial architecture. Manuel Garcia will show his knowledge about the ´present, past and future of our heritage roots´.

The workshop has been divided in a theoretical session first on Friday morning that wil be free and opened to the public with a previous registration, and a practical session on  Friday afternoon and on Saturday morning aimed at restoration professionals, architects, quantity surveyors, builders, painters e.t.c.
