The Nativity Scene of 1780 returns inside Santa Maria Cathedral

2010/12/09 The central nave will be opened to the public until 9th January for the different Christmas activities.

  Vitoria- Gasteiz, 9th December 2010.- Santa Maria Cathedral is already in Christmas Time. From tomorrow until 9th January, The Nativity Scene will be installed in San José Chapel ( known also as Birth´s Chapel). This neoclassical Scene was done by Esteban Agreda in 1780. Likewise, there will be in the central nave an exposition of the photographer Juan Ramon Llavori, included in the ´III Mountain Film Festival´. The Nativity Scene returns again inside the cathedral, because of the restoration works it was not possible to install it there. The Scene has been also restored thanks to the economical  contribution of the Founders´Circle´s members.


The exposition ´Holy Year´ of the photographer Juan Ramon Llavori ( Zumaia) will be installed until 22nd December. The author has received several prizes, and brings to Vitoria 40 pictures about St. James Way.

The central nave of the Cathedral will be opened to the public until 9th January from 10.30am- 14.00p.m, and 16.00pm-18.00pm




Children´s Workshop
