          Vitoria- Gasteiz, 10th December 2010.- The estructural consolidation of the unstable areas of Santa Maria Cathedral have finished after 17 months of works. Yhe most important works have been the ones in the south transept´s vaults, above the Santa Ana portal. After this works, it will be possible to visit this area again and admire the archs and all the repaired elements. The works

* 110 tons of carved stone ( from Markina in Bizkaia)

* 250 tons of limestone

Triforiums´s braces for avoiding the opening of the walls and the vault´s curvature

* 130 meters of steel wire

Repairs of the foundations, walls and vaults of the south transept

* 100 tons of limestone of Campaspero ( Valladolid)

The buttress of 20 meters

* Consolidated by a 2,15 meters wall
