108.133 visitors have visited Santa Maria Cathedral during 2010

2011/01/12  Since the begining of the guided visits, 947.434 persons have visited the Cathedral

             Vitoria- Gasteiz, 12th January 2011.- Santa Maria Cathedral have been visited by 108.133 visitors during 2010, 2,9% more than in 2009.Since the beginning of the guided visits to the cathedral im Sommer 2000,947.434 persons have visited it. From more than 108.000 persons that visited the temple, 26,3% ( 28.404 persons) came from our province, 18,9% ( 20.412 persons) from the Basque Country and 48,4% (52.339 persons) from the rest of the spanish territory. The rest 6% (6.978 persons) has been completed with the foreign visitors.

9.224 persons came from Madrid, 5.743 from Cataluña, 3.769 from Castilla y León, 3.528 from Valencia and 3.407 from Navarra. The predominant visitors country has been France with 1.614 persons. then the UK with 980 persons, Italy ( 735), Germany ( 593) and USA ( 463). it is important to emphasize that there have been visitors coming from 74 different countries like Syria, Singapore, South Africa, Pakistan, Mozambique, New Zealand, India, Ghana, Egypt, Angola or Bielorusia.

It has been possible do make the guided visit in five different languages. 95.095 tours have been made in spanish, 9.688 in basque, 2.356 in english, 766 in french and 214 in german.
