The Badke Quartet will offer this concert on Friday in Santa Maria Cathedral.

                 Vitoria- Gasteiz, 16th August 2011.- There will be a concert of Badke Quartet, one of the best string quartets of the UK, in the central nave of Santa Maria Cathedral on Friday. The concert begins at 8pm and the tickets are available in the Cathedral´s Store ( Las Escuelas St.) for 5€, and 3€ for the members of the Founders Circle.Inside the ´Open for Concert´program and  the International Music Course Festival of Vitoria- Gasteiz, Santa Maria Cathedral will offer on Friday the concert of this prestigious group. Founded in 2002, Badke Quartet has worked with the most famous string quartets of the world, and the members are graduated in the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in London. They have regularly worked with Gabor Takács in the IMS Prussia Cove, and between 2006 and 2008 they travelled once in a month to Cologne for taking intensive chamber music lessons with the Alban Berg Quartet. Badque Quartet is regularly invited to play in several festivals in the UK and also abroad, like Aldeburgh and Verbier Festivals, Belfast Festival in Queen´s , Chichester Festivities and in the London String Quartet Week. They have also played in one of the most important halls of UK like the Wigmore Hall, St. George´s Bristol, St. David´s Hall Carfiff, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, St. John´s Smith Square and in the Royal Festival Hall.

Badque Quartet has recorded for the BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, Lyric FM ( Ireland), ABC Classic FM ( Australia) and for the European Broadcasting Union. They work for making the chamber music more approachable to the public, so they have offered several concerts in schools of the UK.

The Quartet plays with the instruments loaned by the Royal Academy of Music´s collection, including two Gagliano violins and a Segelman Stradivarius violonccelo.
