The Christmas workshops for children in Santa Maria Cathedral take a look to the green capital status of Vitoria- Gasteiz

2011/11/22 The workshop ´Green Christmas in Santa Maria Cathedral´  will begin on 26th December until 30th.

  Vitoria- Gasteiz, 22nd November 2011.- Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation has organized a new edition of the Christmas workshop for children. The fact that Vitoria- Gasteiz will be the european green capital 2012 will be a constant feature in the workshop ,they will use recycled materials and also learn to take care of the environment.

This year the workshop will begin on 26th December until 30th from 10.00am until 01.00pm., and the aim is to bring the children nearer the cathedral and to learn the importance of preserving the heritage. As Vitoria- Gasteiz will be the european green capital 2012 the materials used in this workshop will be recycled.
The first day is entitled ´Welcome to Santa Maria Cathedral in Christmas time!. The children will visit the cathedral and they will prepare christmas decorations.
The second day is called ´Creating my own Nativity scene´. They will visit the Nativity scene in Santa Maria and the napolitan one in Maria Inmaculada. Then they will create their own Nativity scene with recycled materials. On the third day they will play a gymkana in the cathedral, following some clues they must find the ´Christmas Star´. The next day will be dedicated to the ´Vitoria- Gasteiz medieval green´.The children will learn more about the cathedral, the medieval wall, and the professional streets. On the last day, ´My portrait in the Middle Ages´, they will make their own clothes of that time.


The workshop is bilingual for children between 8 and 11 years old. The price is 35€, and 25€ for members of the Founders Association. For reservations please call +34 945 255 135
