Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation and the Arts and Trades School give expression to their collaboration in an audiovisual show

2011/12/01 It will be  possible to see it in the last guided visit on Fridays and Saturdays afternoon.

               Vitoria- Gasteiz, 1st December 2011.- The collaboration between Santa Maria Cathedral and the Arts and Trades School of Vitoria- Gasteiz, is expressed through  an audiovisual show that is it possible to see from today in the cathedral and that tries to´ bring the ocean to city´. With this new attractiveness Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation expects to add new artistic expressions to its legacy.During the 2010- 2011 academic year, Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation and the students of the workshop ´Audiovisual projects´ of the Arts and Trades School have collaborated in the creation of an artistic project that will be showed to the visitors using the light and sound system installed in the cathedral for showing the polycromies of the portico. This project is called ´The sea...´ and tries to bring the ocean to Vitoria. It lasts 6 minutes and it is possible to see it everyday Friday and Saturday afternoon in the guided visit to teh cathedral at 5.30pm.

The students of the ´ Electroacustic Music ´ workshop of the Jesús Guridi Music Superior School have also participated in this project.

           Another way to understand the art

Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation works on the way to understand the art and how can we incorporate it to the monumental and architectural heritage. The Foundation has already some experiences like the new productions of pieces for the Contemporary Music Chapel of the Cathedral or acousmatical concerts, interpretation of sacred theatre pieces, or another proposals like poetry and dance performances.

´The sea...´has been presented today in the afternoon by the Culture Deputy Iciar Lamarain, the Culture Councillor Encina Serrano, the director of the Arts and Trades School, Jose Ignacio Martínez de Arbulo, and the director of Santa Maria Cathedral Juan Ignacio Lasagabaster.
