Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation continues the conference series about another cathedrals with a conference about the Cathedral of Tarazona

2012/01/16 It will be offered by Fernando Aguerri, architect and director of the Master Plan of Santa Maria de la Huerta Cathedral in Tarazona since 1997.

Vitoria- Gasteiz, 16th January 2012.- Santa Maria Cathedral Foundation will celebrate tomorrow the first conference of this year. This time comes the turn of the Cathedral of Tarazona ( Zaragoza), declared Asset of National Interest in 2002 and recently opened to the public after the restoration works during the last 30 years. The conference will begin at 8pm in Villasuso Palace.The ´Encounters with another Cathedrals´ series welcome Mr. Fernando Aguerri, architect of the cathedral of Tarazona and director of the Masterplan since 1997. Mr. Aguerri has worked in very important restoration works in historical buildings and has also directed the Masterplans of the Monastery of Rueda (Zaragoza), the one in Huerta ( Soria) and the archaeological site of Malena ( Zaragoza). Nowadays, he is supervising the writing of the Masterplan of the Uncastillo Fortress ( Zaragoza). He is also member of PARTAL Academy ( Professional  Association of the Monumental Restoration).The conference is entitled ´The Cathedral of Tarazona. Time to restore´ and Mr. Aguerri will explain us the restoration works during the last 30 years. In 2011 the cathedral has been opened again to the public , and with a classic gothic plan , it is one of the most characteristic constructions of the Mudejar in Spain. Asset of National Interest since 2002, in the cathedral we can found the coexistence of the french gothic, the mudejar and renacentist elements uniques in Europe.
