Restoration of the cultural heritage

Restoration of the Tower. (2007-2010)

Since 2007, restoration works on the entire tower have been carried out, both inside and outside, affecting both its stonework and its wooden structures and slate roof.

The wooden structures of the spire and the interior framework have been restored and consolidated, improving their stability and resistance by introducing new wooden elements for shoring and triangulation of their planes. The stonework walls have been restored, replacing the cement pointing with aerated lime and consolidating the parts that already used lime. The stone has been cleaned of different layers of black dirt and biological colonization. And the outer face of the tower has been covered with an aerated lime coating using a mock ashlar pattern.
